The anonymous email thread was shaping up into another flame war, and
the general subscribership has made it clear to me in the past they
really wish I'd "do something" about flame wars when they threaten to
erupt, so I'm doing something this time: I've TEMPORARILY made Firewalls
a moderated list.
Folks wishing to continue the anonymous email discussion are encouraged
to do so in private email. I'll forward non-inflamatory messages to
establish who wants to take part in the discussion; I suggest that some
interested party take the initiative and create a mailing list, or at
least volunteer to keep track of the participants and serve as a
contact point for those wishing to join the party.
Everything else will be forwarded to Firewalls as it always is, modulo
a short moderation delay to give me a chance to examine each message.
When I stop getting inflamatory messages about anonymous email, I'll
make the list unmoderated again, and we'll return to our regular
split-second message turnaround. :-) Actually, given how slow the
list usually is on postings, most of you probably won't even notice the
moderation delay. :-)
