A good "starter" book is the O'Reilly & Associates "TCP/IP Network
Administration" (ISBN 0-937175-82-X). Also, "Internetworking with
TCP/IP, Principles, Protocols & Architecture" vols. I, II & III by 
Douglas E. Comer, published by Prentice Hall (ISBN 0-13-468505-9).
