FWIW; I'm not too impressed with VMS TCP/IP packages. Note however that
I'm probably the furthest thing from being a VMS expert. I've only
established my opinions via indirect experience by experimenting on our
network.
For example; I've found that by sending a source-route to a Vax with
UCX caused it to panic ("FATAL BUG CHECK").
And sending an icmp squish (I'm not going to get into details) to a
Vax with another IP product (I'm not entirely sure of the vendor
though I have my strong suspicions) caused it to drop connections.
(though I've seen this on older SunOS systems too. Specifically mine :( )
