At one of the Martin Marietta sites (East Windsor, New Jersey), hostnames
are assigned in a similarly silly fashion -- mostly due to the intractability
of one of the more powerful members of the user community. As a result,
the systems administration team there enjoys the challenge of trying
to keep names like "a7798" and "a7998" separated in their heads.
