It seems to me that if you really want to ensure dial-in security, you
should use dial-back period.  Caller ID is nice but it is no subsitute
for dial-back.  I used dial-back with ISDN and within the same CO the
call back times are blazingly fast (PacBell isn't SS7 yet so outside
the CO its around 10-20 seconds).  Of course, if your really
paranoid then you might want to put encryption on top of dial-back ...
