It's time to delurk...

I'm the overall security architect at Charles Schwab & Co. where we're
migrating from a centralized mainframe to a distributed environment. OSF DCE
is the glue which will hold everything together. "Everything" includes MVS
systems, a lot of Sun's, other Unix systems, Netware LAN's, and so on. Our
challenge is to integrate the security managers in each environment, eventually
converging to an all DCE environment.

We're connected to the Internet, starting with a basic firewall. Our approach
is to build a solid infrastructure and start deploying real applications.
We've been eliminating sources of breaches as we go, like .rhost files, and will
be investigating the usual range of audit and assessment products.

I have a strong personal interest in privacy rights, which will probably be
reflected in our consumer oriented products.

I'd be interested in hearing from folks involved with large finanical
institutions, particularly those located in San Francisco.
