Brian, while this doesn't solve your PPP encryption problem, as you already
 have a series of firewalls, Blackhole by Milkyway technology presently 
 supports encryption between its own firewalls.  Additionally Janus by BNTi
 is expecting to release this functionality by 'summertime'.
