No doubt. The real issue is how much damage is cgoing to have toi occur
until some governing body (ala CCITT) is setup> For those of us setting up
the "early adoptersZ" Retail Delivery Systems this is a seriously painful
stumbling block...
The real issue is not the 12 year olds in Akron but the "wiseguys" out in
Lower West Mania that have access to the net. International borders and all
that.
Makes one wonder, if you are convicted of "Fraud by Wire" in one of the
countries that comply with the Moslem faith do they cut of a finger, or is
it to by like a "Drug Conviction" in pasrts of Indochine' - DEATH!!! ? and
since the act crosses international boundries, where is the crime actually
committed [source, destination, or both] ? ( I shudder to think of the
interplanetary ramifications!)
The real question is not one of the extremes but of a uniform management
policy and the "teeth" to back it up.
I see light at the end of this tunnel, but it's a long way off!.
Oh well - This discussion should proably go to the disclosure or policy
groups since it really doesn't apply to firewall technology direclty, but
thanks for the soapbox!
