There are two software products that I know of that do this sort of thing 
between unix hosts.

1) BoKS 4.2 from Dynasoft (support @
 dynas .
 se) in Sweden. They also produce a 
security layer 
for DOS the provides a secure Telnet up to the Unix boxes using a Smart 
card system for authentication and for holding the encryption key.

2) Stel from vince @
 dsi .
 unimi .
 it which is currently at Beta and will be 
available free or at least shareware. 

Both of these seem to do the job quite well, but rely on the hosts 
themselves having the software at both ends. BoKS does have the advantage 
of being a larger probuct that address alot of Unix security and user 
management issues across a heterogeneous network.!
