FWIW, there may be a number of folks who just don't have access to 
Usenet.  These folks will clearly not benefit from the migration of 
the firewalls mailing list to a newsgroup.  Not to mention those 
folks whose sites don't or can't carry the feed (I'm thinking beyond 
North America, folks).

However, if someone wants to create a newsgroup, moderated or not, go 
for it.  I'm just hoping most of the expertise will continue to 
participate in this mailing list (regardless of whether they also 
choose to frequent the newsgroup).
