Hi All-

After 3 weeks of reading this list, I have a question unanswered:

Is there anything out there in the way of public domain firewall software?
I have a Sparc 20/Solaris 2.3 which I want to set up as a firewall, mainly
as a learning experience for myself. What free software would be
worth looking into?

Any suggestions appreciated: so far I have in mind:

TCP wrapper
IP filter
ftp/http proxy (possibly socks)
the 'bran-new' port scan detector

other?

Thanks-

Alex

P.S. - why would I want to use a TCP wrapper? So that in case of a hostile
transaction, I know where it came from?
