I don't know if NIS+ is different, but under NIS, we just setup our password file like this: root:##root:blah... goodguy1+ goodguy2+ +::::::/usr/local/bin/noshell /usr/local/bin/noshell is just echoes "you don't have access to this machine" and then dumps them. Pretty straightforward.
