Don't endorse products myself but have played with Karbridges before and 
like the concept. Uses an obsolete 386 PC with dual NICs. Does nothing but
route/filter transparently. And since it does not respond to anything on the
net (you have to program out-of-channel and reboot to change), is immune
to most attacks. Would seem ideal for a situation in which you do not have
adequate control of/in the router.
