You might want to look into the Universal Secure e-Mail (US e-Mail) system and
US e-Mail multi-function gateway (MFG) from Communication and Power Engineering
Inc (CommPower). These systems are designed to support both X.400 and SMTP
(plus Autodin and NATO NICS TARE) message handling over OSI and/or TCP/IP, and
also support military messaging extensions (such as ACP 123 P772 and P48
messages, ACP127, JANAP128, and DD173). US e-Mail supports strong
authentication, B2-level object labelling, multilevel security/sensitivity
processing, user capability processing, and MSP/PMSP. The system currently runs
on Unix System V r4.2 (B2 UNIX), MLS UNIX SVR3.2.3 and SVR4 (B1 UNIX), and CMW.
