I'm actually involved in a project that filters incoming email, ftp and www
traffic. One of our customers has this as a requirement and has tasked us
with developing the functionality.
The issues involved with this are obvious, file formats, protocols, virus
detection and updates and all that... has anyone done more than just do the
"gee that would be nice" thing? I'm not above using commercial products if
it means less work with the equivalent functionality :) I have some URL's
sitting around here somewhere, but I wouldn't mind hearing of more.
