What are you trying to protect?

Internet security isn't something you just pick up like another
programming language. It takes study, trial, and error. Can your site
afford to run risks while you work your way up the learning curve?
Maybe so (that's how lots of people got started) but it depends on
what your site need to protect right now.

In any case, it pays to become knowledgable about Internet security
even if you don't build your firewall from scratch. It takes some
knowledge to properly select, install, and configure one correctly
even if it's an out-of-the-box product.
