Subject: Rogue netbios traffic

At several sites I have worked at, I have noticed an awful lot of netbios
packets trying to get to internal hosts (ie: the external router is screening
them out).
Any explainations for this?
Are they really netbios packets?
Are there badily configured LANs that leak netbios traffic onto the internet?
