Subject: Security Check Program(s)
All:
I'm not sure my last message went out (I never received it), but I'm looking
for a security checking program similar to SATAN. I saw one mentioned here a
few weeks back that was similar to SATAN, but would actually recommend ways
to fix the security hole(s). If anyone knows what the name of this app is,
or any other program that's worth its beans, please respond via private
email if so inclined.
They may have been talking about Internet Security System's Internet Scanner. The Scanner probes for over 135 vulnerabilities and the reports generated have hyper links to the appropriate CERTs, Patches, etc. I believe in a future release we will have the option to actually have the Scanner patch your system for you if you would like it to.
If they were talking about another product (other than Pingware) I would like to know what it is and where to get it.
