In theory, yes.  :-)

Certainly an TCP/IP firewall could be placed anywhere in the topology;
you'll be hard-pressed to find one which will handle multiprotocol
traffic. In any event, a good multiprotocol router :-) could certainly
handle this.

**BorderGuard from NSC supports multiprotocol filtering, including IPX.
