Netware provides an SMTP gateway. You can use it along with a UNIX box
acting as an internet gateway. I should add that you can use the Netware box as
a gateway machine also. However, you can setup good firewalling on UNIX
machines.
If you need more info, pls contact me.

:->Subject: Internet connections without using Unix
:->
:->Dear all,
:-> I've just been asked to make some recommendations to an institution who
:->use Netware v? (3.x I'd guess) for their LAN. That's all they have. They're
:->not going to be particularly technical folk, and if I could, I'd prefer to
:->use their existing Netware NOS to put things in place. I want to be able to
:->provide email and WWW access. Doing this with a Unix box, is relatively
easy.
:-> Doing it without, isn't so clear to me. I need to firewall it somehow, so
:->getting away without Unix might not be so easy there. They use some Novell
:->mailing clients .. I don't know the details .. Anyone have more ideas about
:->configuring such things to read/write SMTP ? Or to use some other email
:->arrangement ?
:->
:->Cheers
:->Danny
