We recently did something similar to what you are looking to
do in our organization. For the E-Mail, we are using a
package from Infinite Technologies called Connect2-SMTP. It
will interface with some versions of MHS, or Connect2, which
is Infinite Technologies E-mail package. It is priced fairly
reasonable for what it does. They have software available
on a trial basis, you can download it at www.ihub.com
As far as WWW access, we are using, on a separate line,
InSync's ModemShare program. This allows users to use a
modem in the "modem server" PC (Not to be confused with
the Netware server) from their own PC. It communicates
using IPX across existing Ethernet wiring. Access to the
modem is acheived by referring to a non-existant COM
port, which is intercepted by the Modem client software
and directed across the network. You can get it with multiple
modem ports. The only limitations I have experienced is
that it doesn't work with the Netscape Personal Edition
dialer, we have to use the Win 95 dialer or Trumpet. Also,
we don't have many people accessing the web, I don't know
what your situation is.
Insync is a subsidiary of Artisoft, info available at
www.artisoft.com
At any rate, the Connect2-SMTP works fine, and configuration
is fairly easy, done through an INI file. Unfortunately, you
need to have a dedicated PC for both the SMTP gateway and
for the Modem share software, which takes away 2 of your
Netware connections.
Hope this helps.
