Two more things I forgot to mention.
1. A Unix box on the same subnet as the two Windows NT machines
exports root through NFS.
2. Other Windows NT machines with modems are springing up like mushrooms
in BigCo and another two of the others were found by war diallers.
That completes the background on my authentication post.
I believe that subject of proliferating NT machines in Unix environments
is one of the subjects that is going to be addressed in a network and
system security seminar/conference in Crystal City this fall. Don't know
specifics but its most likely organized by SANS.
