BigCo put a MimeSweeper running on Windows NT on a Pentium between
its cc:Mail and a TIS Gauntlet. The Gauntlet sent 1,000 messages into
the MimeSweeper in the first hour and the MimeSweeper slowed down.
The time taken by MimeSweeper to process each message gradually lengthened
during the day and by late afternoon it was sending out messages it had
receive eight hours earlier. As numerous pissed of users started to
complain about delays to their Internet mail, BigCo stopped their mail
Gauntlet from sending any more mail to MimeSweeper. From what I heard
it is still sitting there doing nothing until the vendor can tell them
how to speed it up.
