How is this authenticated?  I know that kerberos is slated for some
indeterminant future version, but what does it use now?

There appear to be few if any technical reasons to move from UNIX to Windows
NT. The performance of Linux exceeds that of NT 4.0 and Linux appears to be
more reliable. On three occasions NT 4.0 crashed (during) tests. There were
no crashes with Linux.                                       - David Korn
