actually, M$ would declare both Tungsten and Halogen as obsolete
standards and propose a new material "Administrivitium" as the new
standard for the industry... Release 97 would be available in
1999, as a beta copy for the brave at heart or foolish (there is a
fine line between those two groups).
Of course this would be submitted the the IETF who would embrace it
and move forward with implementation of this new Universal Protocol
Standard for light bulbs.
M$ would be first and only to market with the new technology, using a
few undocumented features in their O/S. Andrew Schulman would write
yet another "Undocumented ....." book...
And life goes on.....
