We plan to install FW-1 from Checkpoint at our office in INDIA. This
would be linked to our corporate headquarters in Tampa U.S.A via IPLC
  International Private Leased Circuit.
( Is IPLC needed or we may just go in for the Public Internet )

   1. Please let me know if the VPN that would be created by encryption,
  would it be under scrutiny
or illegal under the US laws.I heard that Checkpoint does not fall
  under U.S encryption laws.
   2. Secondly is it necessary that our Corporate HQ also have the same
  firewall so as to establish
a VPN between the two locations i.e. can two different Firewalls
  from different vendors
        understand the encryption between them.

I am asking this because then do we have to decide for the same firewall
  or we may have
different firewalls. This mail is for all experts or gurus in Firewall and
  their suggestions would
help me a lot as I have to decide on the viabilty of such a VPN and its
  subsequent implementation.
  Thanks in advance.
