Ugh ....  why not get something flashier? If you want a cheap option, get
a Pentium Pro. Performance is excellent compared to ye ole Sparc Classic.
If you want to stick with Sun, try convincing someone you need a Sparc
Ultra. 

What's the load average on the box btw.? How much swap space is it using?
Have you tried pre-forking a couple of dozen http-gw's?

We run dozens of gauntlet's (well our clients do) on Pentium 133's with
32M RAM as the base platform and no speed problems. We add more RAM or
bump up to Pentium Pro's for heavily loaded sites. Of course in Africa,
line speeds are a little less than others might be accustomed to. Most
customers have 64K or 128K lines with the odd 512K line here and there for
the big guys.
