No professional security person of ANY nationality would GLADLY turn over the
keys to his kingdom to a foreign government/company/agency.
Doesn't make any difference whether it is Gallic, Isreali, Russian, Lithuanian,
Slavic, Maltese, or Urdu. Not offensive, just realistic. Just as my own
government's patently stupid ITAR and other crypto regulations don't make sense
and hinder trade/business overseas, these two instances also contribute to the
mudying of the waters.
Not offensive, by any stretch of imagination. Paranoid security people usually
are the ones with secure boundaries.
For the purposes of this discussion, however, these two regions were singled
out, IMHO, since they are the most visible. One because of government fiat, the
other because of their claims of superiority in the field while downplaying
their foreign intel roots.
Both should be looked at with a skeptical eye. Gallic/Isreali/US/whatever
egos nothwithstanding.
Let's look at the issues behind the paranoia. That's where the real
engineering solutions lie.
