Accessing the serial devices in solaris is pretty easy. If
you want to mess with all the ioctls and wotnot, you
should take a look at source code for something like
the gnuucp dialer or unix zmodem. But if what you want
to do is transfer log files off the firewall, consider just
using "sz" (send zmodem) periodically, and then have
a PC attached to the other side, with it constantly in a
terminal emulator that support automatic zmodem
downloads. Then you don't need to write any code
at all!
