Subject: Security of IP to IPX internet gateway

I have a division who uses a novell ipx network internally.
They want to drop an ip to ipx gateway in place and use it to
connect to the internet (partially to avoid the cost of a firewall).

They think they are secure from any hacking attempts, denial of
service or other issues because they are using IPX inside. Disregarding
the issue of whether IPX will die in a few years, are there any security
implications to their proposed setup ? Are there any IPX hacks which
can be used thru one of these gateways ?
