Subject: Port info: Connect Direct from Sterling Software

Has anyone had experience with a mainframe product called Connect
Direct from Sterling software? I think it used to be called NDM.
Anyway it's a file transfer program for the mainframe. It used to just
be for SNA. Now it supports IP. But our mainframe people nor Sterling
tech support can adequately explain the port allocation strategy.
Apparently it listens on one well known port, 1364 by default config,
then spawns to another port. They cannot seem to explain to me what
the strategy is for the new allocation.

Has anyone had experience allowing this through a firewall?
Unfortunately we don't have 2 systems through which to test this right
now. I soon as they get another system configured I am going to take
the sniffer to the whole damn mess. But until then I'm flying blind.

     Thanks in advance.
