**** WARNING, COMMERCIAL MESSAGE ENCLOSED ****
Argus has a product called Mad Max (tm) that lets you encrypt the entire
laptop, including the boot partition. It uses both a passphrase and a
hardware PCMCIA card to unlock the laptop. Mad Max is designed for use
by bank auditors as they carry their laptops around the world, but it can
obviously be used for any application. The NT version is ready, but the
Win95 and Solaris/Linux versions are not far away (they're all essentially
the same). Today, the information stored on laptops (such as a person's
Quicken information) can be far more valuable than the laptop hardware.
