Vincent,
Lucent Technologies recently introduced a high speed firewall. In our
testing using the NSTL test suite (very similar to the suite used in the
Data Communications March '97 lab test), the firewall will readily
support a T3 connection. Unfortunately, the current release of the
firewall is not exportable from the U.S. due to cryptography used within
the product, but we are working on an export version.
The current release of the Lucent Managed Firewall performs stateful
filtering (not just simple packet filtering -- we maintain state,
reassemble fragments, audit sessions, and can create dependent rules
that allow applications like RealAudio or H.323 without indiscriminately
opening ports, to name a few things). We are working to add application
proxies for certain services (e.g., http). We are also going through
the ICSA certification process.
If you'd like details, you can read more at
http://www.lucent.com/security or you can send me e-mail directly, as
I'd be happy to answer any questions.
