Sender: List-Managers-Owner@GreatCircle.COM Precedence: bulk Maybe a stupid question, but is there a decent, available program to do quick header munging so that messages sent to a list point back to -request for errors? I don't need all of the functionality if Majordomo or listserv, but I'd like the headers to be a little cleaner. I'm sure I could write something, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel. For someone who just wants to fix up headers, what can I use? chuq From List-Managers-Owner Tue Mar 30 22:15:40 1993 Return-Path: Received: by mycroft.GreatCircle.COM (4.1/SMI-4.1/Brent-921015) id AA12090; Tue, 30 Mar 93 22:15:40 GMT Received: from localhost by mycroft.GreatCircle.COM (4.1/SMI-4.1/Brent-921015) id AA12069; Tue, 30 Mar 93 14:14:53 PST Message-Id: <9303302214.AA12069@mycroft.GreatCircle.COM> To: Chuq Von Rospach Cc: list-managers@GreatCircle.COM Subject: Re: header munging? Thanks, Stevan UNIX ListServer does that but it is still experimental; the lack of an RFC on error messages causes problems. Thanks, Stevan The procmail mailinglist scripts (which manage a mailinglist over /usr/lib/aliases) provide this functionality. It manages a history database in which it records which user bounced in the past. It gives you two parameters: 1. How many bounces cause a removal (default 4). 2. What will be the maximum history size for remembering bounces in the past. -- Sincerely, berg@pool.informatik.rwth-aachen.de Stephen R. van den Berg (AKA BuGless). berg@physik.tu-muenchen.de "My name is Smith, the P is not pronounced."
