The latest sendmail supports a Precedence: list (-30, but which will
generate bounces on errors). It should also be ignored by
vacation.

Most if not all implementations do not filter "owner-". This is bad.

There should also be an heuristic like "if there are more than
X % or ! characters in the SMTP sender, then don't bother
replying".
