  This is what I sent to my lists regarding the exchange problem; I've
  since written a filter that lets me specify which mime types are
  allowed on the list, and bounces others (and UUencoded, or BinHex
  attachments too).
  
What moved you to proscribe UUencoded attachments?  This seems to be
broadly interoperable.
