There's one practical consideration that has been left unexplored in this
thread. That is, if the dispute between the various list-members has gone
"off-list," how does removing any of the parties from the list help anyone?
I suggest that you point the complaining member to the offending member's
postmaster and have them (the complainant) pursue the matter with that
responsible authority.
Having said that, I think that there are (at least) several good reasons for
removing someone from a mailing list. Harassment is one of them.
