If you're talking about keeping unwanted material from being distributed to
the list in the first place, there's plenty of list software out there that
does this already (including majordomo -- I just added some new filters to my
majordomo lists this morning).

If you're talking about letting individual subscribers set preferences about
what mail they get and don't get, that's *much* better done on the mailreader
end than it is on the list end, and again, there are plenty of tools out there
that you can use to do this.
