Nobody was suggesting that *we* do that. I merely suggested that Netcom
canonicalize its addresses in outgoing mail, and presumably *they* have
the knowledge to do it correctly.
[Although we are talking about Netcom here, admittedly. I tried to
cancel my shell account on 23 December, and have been getting
increasingly clueless responses to my inquiries as to why they haven't
done it yet. For some cheap amusement, if you ever have to send any
technical or administrative mail to Netcom, attach a
"Return-Receipt-To:" header to your message and sit back and watch them
forward your message around the office in search of someone who knows
anything.]
