It's a funny old world...  try pointing your LDAP client (e.g. 
Netscape v4 or Microsoft's Internet Mail thingy) at ldap.four11.com

Yep, that's right: the "Internet's largest white page directory with
over 9 Million listings", accessible via a protocol which doesn't
(directly) support advertising.  Who'd have thought the directory
services infrastructure would come to pass this way ?!
