of course it would have been.
dont presume that just because AOL do something that it wouldn't have
been done otherwise.

the presumption underscores the basis of what most of us disklike
about AOL management and behavior... a consistent sense of smugness
and overconfidence.

we're big, we're baaaad, but we did a couple good things after entering
reputation-salvage-mode.  everyone should be abundantly and eternally grateful.


so, if AOL is so supportive of sendmail users, when will AOL's own mail
software do the sendmail-thing with respect to "Precedence: list (or bulk)"
and NOT send back whole digests just to say "user invalid".
you'd think the resulting massive reduction in bandwith at their own
gateways would be to their own advantage...
(i know, old topic. no need to answer the question. we know the answer)
