I love this Pity-The-Poor-Innocents line.  It reminds me of the
old Monty Python bit, the Four Yorkshiremen.  

Once Naomi Wolf was confronted by an ardent crazed egalitarian during
a booksigning and speech thusly:  `Why do you write books?
