Perhaps I am not clear on what you wish to do. Do you wish to create Web
pages that refer to individual posts, or do you wish to provide searchable
archives, or both?
It might be that what you're looking for is Hypermail
(http://www.eit.com/software/hypermail/hypermail.html), which converts
messages into Web pages. Of course, if your lists are hosted by your ISP
rather than being on your own server, you'll have to convince your ISP to
install and configure it.
The Web pages it creates can be indexed by Glimpse or other engines local
to your server, or you can simply allow the pages to be indexed by
Alta-Vista and other Web searches.
