It's not the size of 'postings' that concerns
us.....it is the size of 'attachments'

We don't have a problem with the length of postings.
We just want to get rid of *all* attachments.

Which is why I'd like to know if a listowner can
use list software to
*refuse* to accept *any* message which *has* an attachment
---------

Before I set the maximum message size to 300 lines, I looked
and found nothing in the Listserv manual that let me eliminate
attachments by themselves.

Apparently however, the listserv uses
the size of the text PLUS the size of the attachment
in calculating the total size of the message. Since there are
very very few attachments that are less than 300 lines (when converted
to UUCode) the size limitation does the job in a round-about way.

Perhaps I overlooked some command that would specifically
disallow attachments. All I can say is that I looked, didn't find one,
and tried to find a work-around solution.

Hope this helps......
