   It doesn't seem to, although I think it's supposed to.  I have it set to 
"yes", but still get that same problem.

   Not in my experience.  What we've done with the lists on mailinglists.org is 
to create a separate list called "known".  We zubscribe all alternate addresses 
and alternate versions of address that come up to the "known" list, then add it 
to the "restrict_post" line.  That way, members can post from any/all addresses 
without bouncing as "non-member submissions".  The "known" list is otherwise 
invisible.
