Ah. To hazard a guess, these are probably from people who have forwarded an
e-mail through your list with a header that asks for status.  

Look for a "disposition-notification-to" header or an "x-ms-something"
header in the mail that was sent.

Perhaps the place to strip these is in the MLM.  I strip them in demime.
