Terminate with extreme prejudice. =) There is no justifiable reason for
this; it's got to boil down to a misunderstanding of relevant RFC's.
Sounds like a simple adjustment to someone's regex.  The good news is that
users can't complain about not having alternatives - there's always
hotmail.
