Subject: Digests Users

A quick check of my lists shows approximately 40% of users on the digest
version of the lists. This is a sample of 4 lists, approximately 10,000
subscribers total.

FWIW these are computer related lists, so the subscribers are probably
familiar with their email programs.

Whenever I post instructions on how to use the digest, I get a large
number of people switching to the digest that day.

In casual observations, it seems people on the digest are less likely to
post. 

I always assumed digest subscribers are less likely to actually read
the digest. It is easier to delete a couple of digests than to delete 50
emails. When you delete a digest, the thought is "Oh it's only one digest,
I'll read the next one." When you think about deleting 50 emails, the
thinking goes "Wow all these messages, I might miss something if I delete
them."
