I bet the number of digest users varies depending on which list software
is used, and how the list owner sets it up.

I am not a fan of digests myself, and did not institute them when I
started the lists. Then I caved and started the digest for those who asked
for it. For a while digest use was quite low, because I did not publicize
it. Then I had a change of heart about the digest and gave full
instructions on its use. Result? Digest use increased dramatically.

Why do you discourage digest members from posting? The delay? Subject
lines?
