Well, here is the ultimate self-application of our list charter:
Why did List-Managers change format and (apparently) software, AND lost its
numbering, AND change my reception options, without any sort of prior
announcement?
On Saturday, we were at V10 #179 - a nice age for a list - and as usual for
the last yea-many years, I received my text Digest, containing headers for
Majordomo.
This morning, we are at V1 #1 (o brave new world) and I am receiving the
detested "MIME Digest" from a list with no explanatory headers, or
trailers, or anything of that kind.
It doesn't look like Majordomo, although the Greatcircle.com web page
continues to talk about Majordomo and direct your emails there. The web
based archives on Greatcircle.com do not include these "V1 #1" messages.
So here's the list manager's question: WHAT GENIUS made this half-assed
change without making the slightest announcement about it here or
individually to the members? Is this the kind of example we want to set
for list admins who read List-Managers?
If I did this, my members would be up in arms. I'm all ears for the
explanation here.
